Developer Portal Terms of Use
What You’ll Find Here
Welcome to Arity’s Developer Portal. In conjunction with other Allstate family companies, Arity, LLC (“Arity”) has developed application programming interfaces and specifications (“APIs”) to allow developers like you to access certain Arity and other Allstate family data and content (“Content”).
Here, you will find everything you need in order to start building applications with our APIs, including resources to aid you. The SDKs, APIs, and Content on this portal are referred to collectively as the “Tools.”
Steps to Get Started
To get started, create an account. Once you’re logged-in, you’ll be able to register and manage your apps.
All apps are initially limited to development mode. If you want to move to production mode, you’ll submit the request to us so that we can put it through a review and approval process. We do this to make sure all of the developer apps meet all of our business, technical and legal standards and policies.

Acceptance of Terms
Before using the Tools, you must agree to these terms of use (“Terms”). You can accept these Terms and agree to be bound by the Terms in two ways: (a) by clicking to agree to these Terms; or (b) by using the Tools. If you are accepting these Terms on behalf of your employer or any other entity, you represent that you have all necessary authority to enter into these Terms on behalf of that entity.
Your rights to use the Tools terminate automatically if you violate these Terms.
Updates to the Terms
We may modify these Terms at any time and may provide notice to your registered email address. No other modification to these Terms will be binding unless in writing and signed by an authorized representative of Arity. If you do not agree to the modified Terms, you must stop using the Tools. Your continued use of the Tools following any modification to these Terms will constitute acceptance of the modified Terms.
Use Restrictions
Please do not misuse the Tools. You are responsible for your account credentials, and for how you use the Tools. By accessing our website and using the Tools, you may be provided with API keys, secret keys, access tokens, or other credentials (“Access Codes”). You may use the Access Codes only as allowed in the associated documentation.
Your Responsibilities
You are responsible for all activity that occurs under your account or Access Codes. We may monitor your use of the Tools. You are not allowed to use the Tools for any illegal or harmful activity, or to infringe the rights of Arity, its affiliates, its customers, or any third party.
-
Don’t provide or promote content that is obscene or infringes on any third party’s rights, including intellectual property and privacy rights.
-
Don’t get in the way of another’s use of the Tools, interfere with the operation of the Tools, or use the Tools to gain unauthorized access to any computer system.
-
Don’t introduce any viruses, worms, malware, trojans, or other malicious or disruptive code.
-
Don’t post or send spam, chain letters, or junk mail, or store or transmit excessive or unrelated data or content.
-
Don’t impersonate any person or entity, provide false information required for obtaining an account or using the Tools, or use any Access Codes not provided to you by Arity.
-
Don’t reverse engineer, decompile, or otherwise attempt to derive source code of the software that powers the Tools.
-
Don’t create or use any script or automated tool that attempts to create multiple Access Codes or share, lease, transfer, or sublicense any Access Codes.
-
Don’t attempt to gain unauthorized access to the Tools or any computer system used to provide the Tools, circumvent any access restriction or security measures with respect to the Tools, or disclose your account login information or otherwise give access to the Tools to any third party.
You agree to indemnify and hold us harmless from and against all damages, losses, and expenses (including reasonable legal fees and costs) relating to any claim against us related to your service, actions, content, or information.
Confidentiality
The Content and your account information are confidential. Please help us keep it that way. You must maintain the confidentiality of the Content and Access Codes. Except as expressly permitted under these Terms, you may not use, disclose, aggregate, share, redistribute, or provide others with access to Content or Access Codes. You agree to immediately notify Arity if you suspect or become aware that any Content or Access Codes have been disclosed, whether intentionally or inadvertently, to another person in violation of these Terms, or that the confidentiality or integrity of any Content or Access Codes has been breached in any way.
License to You for Your Use of Our Tools
Arity and its affiliates own all rights in the Tools. Arity grants you a limited, non-exclusive license to use the Tools solely for purposes of developing software using the APIs. Until your request to move to production mode is granted, this license is solely for noncommercial, nonproduction purposes.
All Content obtained using the APIs remains property of Arity and its affiliates. Although you may use Content with your software subject to these Terms, you may not incorporate or embed Content into your software code, or store Content (whether locally or in a remote data store) except to the extent needed for use by your code while it is running and only for so long as your code is running.
You may not charge a fee or otherwise derive any revenue from apps in development mode.
You may not assign, transfer, or sublicense any rights to use the Tools granted to you by Arity to any third party, whether in whole or in part.
Software You Create
You own the software that you create and grant Arity and its affiliates a license to that software to the extent needed for Arity to provide the Tools to you. You acknowledge that Arity and its affiliates may have already developed or may in the future develop products or services that provide similar features or functionality to the software you create using the Tools.
Availability
Your access to the Tools may be interrupted or discontinued. Arity cannot guarantee availability. Your violation of these Terms may also result in your access being interrupted or discontinued.
Trademarks and Publicity
Without our permission, you may not use Arity, Allstate or any of their affiliates names, logos, or other trademarks for any purpose. You grant Arity and its affiliates permission to use your name and content in presentations, marketing materials, customer lists, financial reports, and website listings, and in other advertising or similar communications relating to the Tools.
Production Mode Review and Approval Process
Initially, your use will be restricted to development mode. In development mode, there may be caps or other limitations on your use of the Tools. Please contact us to learn more about the caps and limitations for the individual product in which you are interested.
If you are going to use your app for commercial use or make it available to a larger audience, you will need to submit a request to us to trigger the review and approval process for moving your app to production mode. These Terms will still apply to your use in production mode but in some cases a separate commercial agreement may be required that supplements or supersedes these terms.
Example Reviews
Our review and approval process may look different depending on the exact Tools you are using and the app you develop. Below are some examples of reviews that may take place, but the ultimate approval to move to production mode is always subject to our sole discretion.
-
Functionality and Compliance Review
We want to review your app to ensure that it functions well for use with our Tools and for end users. We will also review your app and your app’s end user agreement and privacy policy to ensure compliance with these Terms
-
User Experience and Design Review
Since our Tools are powering a portion of your app, we may want to review your app to ensure that the experience for end users is positive.
-
Marketing and Brand Guidelines Review
Before using our name or logo or those of our affiliate companies, you need our permission. If we give that permission, we will want to ensure that you are following our brand guidelines appropriately. We may also discuss the types of promotional activities that may be undertaken.
-
Commercial Use Review
Depending on your app, we may find it appropriate to put a commercial agreement in place that may supplement or supersede these Terms. For example, if you would like to offer a paid service using our Tools, have a large user base, require a service level agreement or dedicated support, or are interested in any other relationship that may be aided by laying out the terms of the relationship in a commercial agreement, we will want to discuss moving our relationship to a different type of agreement.
If you believe this step may apply to you, please reach out to us as early as possible at developer@arity.com.
Submitting Your App
To submit your app, please email us at developer@arity.com.
Guidance for Production Mode Approval
Before moving your app to production mode, your app must also comply with the below:
- Your app must not crash or spam users, but instead must be functional without obvious bugs.
- You need to follow our brand guidelines. You must not use Arity, Allstate or of our affiliates names without our consent. You must not use the names of other companies or products that are not yours or for which you do not have explicit permission. You must not use misleading or offensive terms in your app.
- You must take adequate steps to protect end user data. You must not transfer or sell any data you obtain from us or our Tools.
- You must provide an end user agreement and privacy policy that explains to end users what data you are collecting, how you are using that data, and how you may share it. Your app must not be in conflict with the Arity privacy policy. You must also delete all of a person’s data you receive from us if that person requests that you delete the data, unless you are required to keep it by law, regulation, or a separate written agreement with Arity.
Warranty, Liability, and Indemnity
The Tools are provided on an “as is,” “without any warranty,” and “without any liability” basis. Unless otherwise explicitly stated, Arity and its affiliates do not guarantee the quality, accuracy, completeness, or timeliness of the Tools and, to the maximum extent permitted by law, Arity and its affiliates expressly disclaim any warranty of any kind with respect to the Tools, including regarding their availability, quality, accuracy, fitness for any use or purpose, compatibility with any standards, or noninfringement.
To the maximum extent permitted by law, you hereby expressly and irrevocably release and discharge Arity and its affiliates, and their respective directors, officers, employees, agents, representatives, contractors, licensees, and successors (“Arity Related Parties”) from any and all actions, claims, suits, proceedings, liabilities, debts, judgments, and demands that you have, have had, or may have in the future, for any reason relating directly or indirectly from or arising out of the Tools or these Terms. Arity and its affiliates are not liable for any damages or liability relating directly or indirectly from or arising out of the Tools or these Terms, including, but not limited to, your use of the Tools or any content that you submit using the Tools. Arity and its affiliates are not responsible for any indirect, special, incidental, consequential, or punitive damages arising out of or in connection with the Tools or these Terms. Notwithstanding the foregoing limits on liability, you acknowledge that under no circumstances shall Arity and its affiliates’ aggregate liability under these Terms exceed USD $100.
You hereby agree to indemnify, defend, and hold harmless the Arity Related Parties from and against all claims, losses, expenses, damages, or costs (including, but not limited to, direct, incidental, consequential, exemplary, and indirect damages) and reasonable attorneys’ fees resulting directly or indirectly from or arising out of your use of the Tools, your Account, or your violation of these Terms.
Privacy Policy
For an explanation of how Arity collects, uses, and shares information Arity obtains in the course of doing business, please refer to our Privacy Statement. You agree to use of information you provided to Arity in accordance with Arity’s Privacy Statement and these Terms.
For an explanation of how other Allstate-family companies collect, use, and share information those companies obtain in the course of doing business, please refer to Allstate’s Privacy Statement at https://www.allstate.com/about/privacy-statement-aic.aspx. General Terms
These provisions relate to the transferability, legal interpretation, and enforcement of these Terms.
No assignment. You may not assign or otherwise transfer these Terms or any rights or obligations under them. We may assign or transfer these Terms, or delegate any of our rights or obligations hereunder. These Terms are binding on and inure to the benefit of the parties, their successors, and permitted assigns.
Illinois Law. Any dispute relating to these Terms or the Tools shall be governed by the law of the state of Illinois and subject to the sole and exclusive jurisdiction of the federal or state courts of Cook County, Illinois.
No Agency or Beneficiaries. Nothing in these Terms shall be construed to create a partnership, joint venture, employment relationship, or agency relationship between Arity or its affiliates and you, or to create any third party beneficiary to these Terms.
Equitable Relief. You agree that any violation of these Terms by you will result in irreparable harm to Arity, its affiliates or both for which damages would be an inadequate remedy and, therefore, in addition to its rights and remedies otherwise available at law, Arity, its affiliates or both will be entitled to equitable relief, including both a preliminary and permanent injunction. You hereby waive any requirement for the posting of a bond or other security if Arity, its affiliates or both, seek an injunction in relation to these Terms.
Waiver. Any express waiver or failure to exercise promptly any right under these Terms will not create a continuing waiver or any expectation of non-enforcement. Any waiver of these Terms must be in writing and signed by the party against whom enforcement of the waiver is sought.
Severability. If any provision of these Terms is held invalid by any law or regulation of any government, or by any court, the parties agree that such provision will be replaced with a new provision that accomplishes the original business purpose, and the other provisions of these Terms will remain in full force and effect.
